DOC gears up for new marine protections in Hauraki Gulf/Tīkapa Moana/Te Moananui-a-Toi
From Saturday 25 October 2025, new marine protection areas take effect across the Hauraki Gulf. DOC is responsible for managing and monitoring these 19 new protected areas, located across the wider Gulf including to the east of the Coromandel peninsula.
